Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar and explore Stone Town

After arriving in Zanzibar, you’ll transfer straight to beautiful Nungwi. Its white-sand beaches, clear waters, and laid-back atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax after your journey. Spend the afternoon at your own pace, lounge on the sand, swim in the sea, or enjoy a drink by the shore. For something special, consider a sunset dhow cruise. Fresh seafood and Swahili dishes provide a delicious introduction to the island’s flavours.

Day 2: Snorkelling or beach day

Shape the day however you like. Take a snorkelling trip to Mnemba Atoll to explore vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish, or visit the nearby private island owned by Bill Gates. If you prefer, spend a quiet day on the beach, reading, swimming, or simply soaking up the sun. All activities are optional, giving you the freedom to choose how active or relaxed your day will be.

Day 3: Wander Stone Town and savour Zanzibar’s spice

After a leisurely morning, head to historic Stone Town. Stop along the way at a spice farm to experience the aromas and tastes of Zanzibar’s famous cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. On arrival, explore the narrow streets on a walking tour, or wander at your own pace. In the evening, experience the lively Forodhani Food Market, where you can sample local street food and soak up the atmosphere. Activities are optional, giving you the freedom to take it easy or explore.

When is the best time to visit Zanzibar?

The long dry season from June to October offers sunny days, minimal rain, calm seas for water activities, and comfortable breezes, which is perfect for beach holidays or safaris. The short dry season from December to February is hotter and ideal for a winter escape, though expect more tourists. Avoid March to May, the long rainy season, when it’s wet and humid.
